Three days later Evangeline had picked them up right on time and, after a short flight home, they were brought to Samson’s house instead of their own where they were surprised to see Hannah there on the front steps waiting for them. Their doors opened and she ran to them, her long braid blowing behind her.

Liam grabbed her, sweeping her into his arms the way he had when she’d been young. “Aren’t you supposed to be at camp?” he asked, releasing her so that Travis could get in his hugs as well.

Their daughter laughed and fixed a wayward strand of hair by sticking it behind her ear. “It finishes up tomorrow. We’re putting on a real show. With ribbons, but we had to come home to get something ready to bring for lunch for family day.”

Liam met Travis’ gaze. “Do we need to go to the store? I can’t even remember what we have in the house that could work.”

“I’ve got it covered,” Evangeline said, walking past them after locking her SUV. Her men, Nicholai and Oliver, stood in the now open doorway of Samson’s house, apparently waiting for her. “Three dozen salted caramel cupcakes are being delivered to the riding school tomorrow. Courtesy of the pack credit card. You’ll all be on a highly expensive sugar rush. I even ordered some gluten free and vegan ones for those girls you were telling me about on the drive home. Now, little girl, who is your best aunt?”

Hannah smirked. “You’re my only aunt.”

Evangeline rolled her eyes, but Liam could see the light in her eyes as she turned away from them. “Doesn’t make it any less true.”

“Thanks for taking care of that,” Liam called to her. She gave him a little wave over her shoulder and stepped into the embrace of the two men he knew she considered part of her family. There were passionate kisses and tender embraces followed by a giggling Evangeline that he could hear from the driveway. Thankfully his daughter didn’t have the hearing that shifters did and so was blessedly saved from the things Evangeline and her men were saying to each other. By Travis’ averted gaze he thought that his husband could likely guess what was going on even without the excellent hearing Liam had.

“So how was your vacation?” Hannah asked them, taking each of their hands in hers as she led them toward the big white mansion Samson and Christopher called home.

“It was good,” Travis instantly replied.

Liam grinned at the heat he could see radiating in his lover’s cheeks. “Yes, it was. Though the fact that it rained all three days wasn’t all that great.”

Travis nodded. “Horrible weather. But we did go swimming during the few times there wasn’t lightning to worry about. And there was plenty to eat and a stash of old movies.”

Hannah made a face. “You went on vacation and watched movies? That doesn’t sound all that great to me. You should take another one soon. To a place with less crappy weather.
